Review Week 15

Image
For this week's back up and review assignment, I watched The Epic of Gilgamesh video . The first thing I noticed about the video was the instrument used to play this son. What an interesting looking thing! I think I will do my Wikipedia on it! It is long and skinny and has only three strings that I could see. However, the sounds made from this instrument were very soothing. I also liked the singer's voice. It had a lot of emotion in it. I wish that I had listened to more music for part of my assignments for this class. They are so soulful and I think we forget that music can be used to tell stories. I know in America it's more of a form of entertainment, but I know in other cultures, music has more meaning to it than that. I thought this was a very powerful way to retell this epic story. Title: Fluffiest Source: Twitter The image I chose this week was of a cat sitting in front of a mirror asking who was the fluffiest of them all. I know that they were probably ...

Week 14 Review

Well of course for the video I had to watch the one that uses food to teach grammar! If you want to watch this video too, you can find the link here! One thing I learned from this video is that if two or more words are used before a noun to describe that noun, then they need to be hyphenated. I ALWAYS get this wrong. But the way they explained it was pretty simple and easy to remember. I also learned that there are two types of compliments (complements) I had no idea! Another thing that I learned is the difference between fewer and less. They say if you can count it, then use fewer, if you can't, use less. I don't know that I've ever used fewer in a sentence other than these few right here. Although the acting was TERRIBLE in this video, it was pretty entertaining and I learned quite a few things from it. Patrick I picked this picture because I have been struggling with this so much this week and trying to get my assignments done! Anything and everything ...

Week 13 Review

Holy smokes! Less than 3 weeks of school left! Where has the time gone?!?!? I'm so ready for the semester to be done, but not ready just yet because I'm still a little behind. For this week, I chose the image of the JK Rowling saying about stories. The last week has been particularly rough for me personally, so I have enjoyed kind of letting some of that stress out through stories. I think this was supposed to be for the readers, but I took it as the writing part of the story can transport you to another place. It was a great outlet for me this week. I realized how much I really do enjoy writing. Source: Blogspot A link to the video I watched can be found here . This video talked about the Power to Create. It pointed out that being creative doesn't mean just the arts. But rather, it means how you live you life and how you take every opportunity and turn it into something better. While I don't agree with the socialism undertones of the video, I did think that ...

Week 12 Review

So the image that I found the most funny was the one of distracted boyfriend. It was in the announcement for November 10th. It made me laugh so much! I have been working hard the last couple days to get caught back up in this class. Doing every single type of assignment all in one day. The meme is making a meme for extra credit versus doing a reading assignment. I just could relate with this soooooo much.  Here is the image. Not sure on the title, but this is where I got it from:  Blogspot The video I watched for this week was Why We Worship Trees:  found here! I knew that this was a big part of the Indian culture, but I never knew why. I now know that they associate different kinds of trees with different gods. How fascinating! I also really like the Epified videos. They are short and sweet and to the point, but they do a great job of explaining things in the India culture or retelling stories. I also like the illustrations that go with the videos. I like that styl...
